Who are you?
I'm Sophie Corrigan (also known as LadyAxolotl on Instagram) and I live in a little sweet shop in the UK. I'm a full-time freelance illustrator with a first-class Illustration degree from the University of Central Lancashire, and am currently studying for my Masters Degree in Children's Book Illustration. I have produced work for a number of lovely clients, and these include ~ Tesco Magazine, Hallmark Cards, Moonpig, Ohh Deer, Jellycat, Healthy Planet, Felt Studios, Digitas Health LifeBrands, Boomf, Mindapples and CardNest. My work has also been stocked by John Lewis, Paperchase, Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, Topshop, Tesco, SOMA Gallery, Yard Gallery and ASOS! One day I’d like to be a children’s book illustrator, but for now, you might find me drawing, painting, blogging, making cute things from wool, watching nature shows, or hanging out with my pet axolotls and cockatiel. To find out more about me and my work, please visit my website.
How do I buy a t-shirt from you?
I sell t-shirts (and other lovely items) through external websites - you can find them under the 'more shops' tab above. Each site does a fantastic job at producing my artwork on products - just click through the pages to see which sites stock what! (Redbubble and Society6 in particular have lots of choice). Some shirts are also available through this website here.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! Your order will be charged in GBP, but don't be put off by this - I can (and do!) ship to any country in the world.
UK Postage costs and delivery times?
I offer 1st Class Royal Mail and also 1st Class Royal Mail Tracked services. The price depends on the amount you spend. Postage is cheaper to order direct from this shop than if you order via my Etsy shop! This is due to Etsy fees I incur per listing.
1st Class Royal Mail: when you spend £0 - £3, postage is £1
1st Class Royal Mail: when you spend £3.01 - £24.99, postage is £1.50
1st Class Royal Mail: when you spend over £25, postage is FREE!
1st Class Royal Mail Tracked: flat fee of £5
Please allow 1-2 business days of processing time. Once posted, your order should reach you within 1-3 working days. If you need your items by a certain date, please get in touch and I may be able to send them out sooner, or offer a next day delivery service for an extra fee.
International postage costs and delivery times?
For everywhere in the world apart from the UK, I use a standard Royal Mail shipping service. I've been using this service for years, and have had very little issues with it. I currently do not offer tracked worldwide shipping, as the costs to you would be extortionate and the service isn't much different to standard international postage. Upon request though, I can get you a quote for tracked shipping!
The price again depends on how much you spend.
Worldwide shipping: when you spend £0 - £20, postage is £3
Worldwide shipping: when you spend £20.01 - £50, postage is £6
Worldwide shipping: when you spend £50.01 and over, postage is £15
Please allow 1-2 business days of processing time. Once posted, delivery to Europe should take 3-5 working days. Delivery to the rest of the world should take 5-7. If you need your items by a certain date, please get in touch and I may be able to send them out sooner.
Can you tell me about your cards?
The main product I stock and sell is greeting cards! I'm hoping to expand my range, so if there's a particular design you'd like to see on a greeting card or postcard just let me know. I searched far and wide to find the best quality print and cardstock available (my lovely Etsy feedback can attest to this!) to showcase my illustrations. The majority of my cards are printed on 250gsm Gesso card, and come with their own brown Kraft envelope. All of my greeting cards and postcards can double up as mini prints, and I can sign them, add a message or post directly to your recipient upon request.
And your prints?
I've made some of my best-selling designs available as prints. All of my prints come hand-signed with a lovely Blackwing pencil as standard - on either the front or back (the choice is up to you when you place your order). They are printed on 350gsm uncoated cardstock and are full bleed. Currently I'm just offering the prints in A4 size (which is the perfect size for a frame!). They come sealed in a cello sleeve with a cardboard backing, and finished off with one of my logo stickers at the back. They are then shipped in sturdy card-backed please-do-not-bend envelopes.
What inspires your work?
Nature and animals are arguably my biggest inspiration, and I like to inject an element of humour into each of my artworks. One day I'd like to have a children's book published, but for now I'm spending time studying, improving my work, and illustrating for a number of exciting and diverse clients. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it!
Can I commission an illustration?
You can usually place an order for illustrations directly from my shop here, but if the listings aren't available this means I'm going through a busy spell. I will list them when I have a spare few days to work on them, as I never like to rush commissioned artworks, so please do check back often. I get a lot of requests for these, so I can only offer them on a first-come-first-served basis. If you have any other commission inquiries, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will aim to get back to you as soon as possible.
I've ordered a portrait! How do I send you details?
Thanks very much!! Simply reply to your order confirmation email with the details and photos of your chosen subject. Do make sure to check your junk folder too, just in case I've sent a reply to you!
Can I ask you a different question?
Of course! Please e-mail me at email@example.com or use the contact form on my website, and I'll try to get back to you promptly. Please note that due to the volume of e-mails I receive, it can sometimes take me a while to get back to you.
